String contention for the .HOTEL new gTLD: we have a winner

Another ICANN auction ends for this string contention for HOTELS/.HOTEIS new gTLDs.
According to Jean Guillon:
String contentions are being resolved little by little but plural new gTLDs, such as ".HOTELS", ".CARS", ".PHOTOS"... remain a problem for end users. They generate confusion when it comes to buying a domain name and they increase the possibility for squatters to register "that other domain name" Registrants (end users) forgot to secure when they registered the singular version of their domain name.

Extract from the article:
"Two applicants participated in the auction for .HOTELS/.HOTEIS. B.V., applicant for .HOTELS, prevailed with a winning price of $2,200,000".
