Who will be first: .APPLE or .GOOGLE ?

New .GOOGLE domains?
The .GOOGLE new gTLD was delegated but it does nos seem that these new domain names are part of recent developments.
According to a recent announcement:
"In an effort to further increase security, in the coming weeks we’ll be changing the main Google Calendar URL from "' to '"

Since Google often does announcements of this kind, it would have been appropriate to consider changing to a ".google" domain name instead of another sub-domain.

Join the Apple Club
Apple seems to have started to redirect new domain names to its front page and is a good example of this but having a look at domains ending in ".apple, the google search engines does not yet show any.

From Google:

New gTLD reminders:
  • Most recent Sunrise Period announcements;
  • The Trademark Clearinghouse ("TMCH") calendar;
  • Clubs offering free products can register their ".club" domain name here and search for a "Premium" on
