Why are LGBT groups nervous about the .LGBT new gTLD?

Extract: "Some LGBT groups, particularly the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association, have objected to the management of the .LGBT domain. As Marc Naimark explained at Slate, some are worried these types of domains, including the .gay domain, will be picked up by haters to bash LGBT people — or porn websites for purely commercial purposes".

Reminder:
  • LGBTs will soon be able to register their .LGBT domain name with GoDaddy;
  • To participate in a Sunrise Period, Brands should submit their trademark data into the Trademark Clearinghouse and check the calendar;
