The domain name system and the new generic top-level domains

Extract: "During round 3, there have been 233 contention sets. A contention set is a proposed gTLD string or a set of very similar proposed gTLD strings that have been proposed by multiple applicants. Out of these 233 contention sets, 163 have already been resolved and 70 are still unresolved. For the 70 still unresolved contentions sets there are 244 applications from various applicants. Some of the most interesting figures about the contention sets are those related to the contentions sets solved by ICANN auction. There have been 10 contention sets solved this way. The lowest winning bid was $600000 while the highest was $6760000".
