.Vin and .wine: The U.S. wine producers (also) oppose unconditional delegation (old post)

Used to the status quo, the issue of the delegation of the new “.vin” and “.wine” internet domains, has come through another summit of ICANN (the intergovernmental body which manages web domain names) without a solution having been found. Despite various endeavours, particularly on the French side, the positions of the supporters of unconditional delegation (the U.S., Australia and New Zealand) and the defenders of a protection of Geographical Indications (the E.U. and Latin American countries) have not budged..
